Baby Alpaca, dream yarn

I’ve yet to visit Purl Soho in New York City.  A blessing since I’d probably max out my credit cards in their store.  Their patterns are classic designs, and their yarns are luxurious. I enjoy reading their blog, and drooling over the patterns.  I recently made Giacomo’s Baby Hat.

Fairisle Hat

The hat is Fair Isle in the round made with Blue Sky Fibers Baby Alpaca.  It required four different colors, but its a enough yarn to make several baby hats.  This yarn is a delight to work with, and has beautiful stitch definition.

Baby Alpaca yarn has a silky feeling, and is warmer than sheep’s wool. Baby Alpaca is naturally water-repellent and elastic making it well-suited for knitting winter hats.

What a beautiful hat! I love Purl Soho too, their designs are so elegant and simple. Even a beginner can make something gorgeous.

Although this fair-isle design is not one of the beginner ones, I should warn any beginners …
